Celebrate 2023

You have probably heard the saying, “You cultivate what you celebrate.”

So, if you want to cultivate generous givers in your church then let’s celebrate their giving and the impact of that giving.

Here’s a couple of suggestions:

  • I highly recommend an announcement in worship either on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday in January to wrap up 2023 and look toward 2024.  Did you have an annual campaign in the fall of 2023?  If so, let everyone know how it went.  Did we hit our goals?  Are we ready for 2024?

  • When you send your 2023 financial statements at the end of this month, what will you include in that envelope other than the financial statement?

    • Will you celebrate all that happened in your church in 2023 as you advanced the cause for Christ?

    • Will you show the people how their giving has made an impact?

If you are a long time reader or have worked with me or one of my colleagues, all of this info sounds pretty familiar.  However, I find that familiarity can often lead to complacency.

So let’s wrap up 2023 with a celebration on January 14 in worship and let’s insert a celebratory letter in the mailing this month that includes each person’s giving statement for 2023.

PS.

Would you like to have a free snapshot of the financial health of your church?  We offer a Generosity Pulse Report that provides an overview of the last three years of giving.

  • All the data prior to 2020 is pretty much irrelevant at this point.

  • We now have three full fiscal years behind us since 2020.  A new baseline can be set.

  • Let’s take a look at the giving trends for your church and you can utilize that data to communicate more effectively and inspire the people of your church toward greater generosity.

Email me here and let’s set up a time to talk and get your Generosity Pulse Report scheduled.

No charge.  No pressure.  Just conversation.
